1.2 Contract Manager


1.2.1 Summary:
The Contract Manager is responsible for carrying out contractual follow up, focused on risk management an supporting the Project Manager ensuring contractual compliance, following up on subcontracting and purchasing processes.

 

1.2.2 Responsibilities/ Duties include:

  •  Administrate and negotiate contractors and Clients contracts.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of contract management processes to achieve complete control of the contractual cycle, following company standards, anticipating disruptions, reducing contingencies and improving response timing and reporting.
  • Examine contract's procedures requiring formal notices, time limitations and other parameters to ensure complete understanding and control of the obligations and rights therein.
  • Ensure the project team is fully aware of the constraints, conditions and contractual environment prevalent. Being in charge of contractual guidelines and trainings to simplify and focus on the procedures to be observed.
  • Prepare submissions for variation orders, claims for extensions of time or recognition of extra-cost or changes of scope in liaison with the PMs.
  • Prepare reports for circumstances such as obstructions, disruptions, force majeure, delays and other relevant impacts, to be submitted internally or to third parties.
  • Fully evaluate, follow up and report on potential liquidated damages or claims scenarios within the contract’s framework.
  • Prepare or coordinate with the legal department the determinations on interpretations under the Contract, preliminary action on dispute management, procedural compliance for potential contractual and legal consequences and potential terminations.

 

1.2.3 Education, Experience, and Attributes:

  • MSc Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Law degree.
  • 3 years of experience in Energy, Engineering or Construction Companies in management of construction contracts.
  • Renewable Energy contracts experience will be especially considered.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
