The Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of critical WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) components supplied from Brazilian manufacturers. This role demands deep expertise in mechanical commodity quality.

Primary Commodities in Scope

The SQE will be responsible for supplier quality management of the following key wind turbine commodities:

Yaw & Pitch Bearings, Structural Bolts & Fasteners, Hydraulic Systems, Cooling Systems

Educational Background

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field (required). Degree must be recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC).

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Renewable Energy Systems, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 6–10 years of progressive experience in supplier quality engineering within the wind energy, heavy machinery, automotive, aerospace, or industrial equipment sectors.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on SQE experience with high-precision mechanical components, preferably within wind turbine supply chains.

Demonstrated expertise in at least three of the five core commodity areas:

    1. Yaw/Pitch Bearings: Quality oversight of large-diameter slewing bearing manufacturing, heat treatment, gear machining, sealing systems, and testing per ISO 1132, DIN 625, or ABMA/AFBMA standards.

    2. Structural Bolts: Knowledge of high-strength bolting standards (e.g., ASTM A490, DIN 6914, ISO 898-1), torque/tension relationships, galvanic corrosion protection, and assembly procedures for WTG structural connections.

    3. Hydraulic Systems: Experience with hydraulic component quality (pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings), cleanliness standards (ISO 4406), pressure testing, and system integration for pitch control or braking systems.

    4. Cooling Systems: Understanding of heat exchanger manufacturing (brazed, welded), fan/blower performance testing, coolant compatibility, and reliability under cyclic thermal loads in WTG nacelles.

  • Proven track record working with Brazilian suppliers in the Southeast industrial hub for mechanical components.
