Job Guideline
Manage Health, Safety & Environment on site during the construction of the Goldwind Wind Farm near Bedford in the Eastern Cape. Monitor the company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensure adherence to the company’s occupational health, safety and environmental policies and commitments and advise corrective action where required. Conduct regular safety and environmental audits, maintenance and reporting of safety and environmental performance and maintaining a proper record-keeping system in line with OHS and Environmental requirements. Safety inductions for new employees and contractors and foster health and safety awareness on site.

Job Responsibilities
- Discharge his duties as the CR8(5) on the Wind Farm.;
- Ensure legal compliance with OHS Act and MHS Act, ISO health and safety standards, customer requirements, as well as any other applicable legislation at all times
- Conduct all internal training on employees. (Induction, HIRA, Correct use of PPE,etc; Assist in compiling risk assessments. (Baseline, Issue and continuous); Ensure that daily risk assessments are completed correctly, assessed and distributed.
- Manage Safety Representatives and chair monthly safety meetings with safety reps and contractors, prepare minutes of meetings; Manage safety performance of subcontractors. Ensure no sub-contractor is permitted to work on site without being in possession of a safety file
- Ensure that all appointments are done as per the site SHE organogram and the communication of the responsibilities to the appointee is explained.
- Prepare the site emergency evacuation plan and ensure all supervisors and contractors are supplied with a copy of the plan.
- Ensure safety and environmental related records are maintained and registers and checklists are updated.
- Conduct accident/incident investigations and reporting
- Conducting regular site internal audits at all levels
- Undertake daily site inspections and liaison with the ECO to monitor, audit and verify that all works comply with environmental legislation and the EMPr compliance; and ascertain the level of such compliance and impact minimisation.;
- Prepare daily monitoring reports which reflect the EMPr compliance status, findings, issues and recommended actions for addressing non-compliances and submit these to the ECO on a weekly basis.
- Compile detailed incident reports (including spillage of bitumen, fuels, chemicals, or any other material) and keep a complaint register onsite indicating how these issues were addressed, what rehabilitation measures were taken and what preventative measures were implemented to avoid re-occurrence of incidents/complaints.
- Responsible for the implementation of HSE management and risk identification, the preparation of HSE protection measures while preparing operation plans, and the supervision of HSE training for employees.
Qualification
- Education Degree: Bachelor and above
- Major: Safety, Environmental, etc.
- More than 3 years experience
- Professional Certificate: CHSO registration
