The reason for this role:
The Electrical Operations Lead (Service) plays a key role in supporting the Electrical Operations Manager (Service) by providing technical and supervisory expertise for HV and EBoP assets, ensuring electrical compliance across all GWA-managed sites in Australia. This position also supports the administrative requirements of the Electrical Operations function as needed.
Due to the nature of the operations, the role will occasionally require after-hours support and travel to various sites to meet operational needs.
What you will be doing?
- Provide advice to site operations team and support the Electrical Operations Manager (Service) in meeting all contractual obligations in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
- Contribute to the development of systems and work practices focused on improving safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
- Support Goldwind Australia’s growth by reviewing and providing input into the electrical design of WTG and EBoP systems to ensure compliance and achieve safe and efficient operation and maintenance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of electrical and high-voltage training, operational systems, and processes.
- Provide on-site support as required for planned and unplanned works.
- Support with operational requirements, including planned maintenance activities, plant and equipment operations, and the provision of electrical and HV technical support.
- Review and develop risk assessment documentation such as JSEA and SWMS.
- Review and update service HSEQ risk registers, including compliance investigations, audits and incident investigations.
- Support to the development of site-based workforce skills and competency.
- Plan and undertake work in a transparent and efficient manner, ensuring planned works are managed to minimize impact on asset availability and generation.
- Work with Network Service Providers to ensure clear and open communications are maintained, and plan work resource permitting around network planned outages.
What does your background look like?
- Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification.
- HV Operator Certification, HV Safe Work Practice, and valid Driver’s Licence.
- Construction White Card, Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Proven experience in HV switching, electrical testing, and power transmission and distribution environments.
- Skilled in SCADA systems, project planning and leadership (mentoring and training) within renewables – including solar, BESS, wind turbine and generation plant operations.
- Previous experience using computerised Maintenance management Systems (CMMS).
