Job Description:

 

The Graduate Trainee Site Technician will participate in the installation and commissioning of wind turbines at a designated Goldwind Wind Farm project. As part of Goldwind’s structured training program, the role provides hands-on exposure to turbine assembly, site operations, and compliance standards, preparing graduates for long-term technical careers in renewable energy.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Installation Support
•     Assist senior technicians and contractors with turbine erection, mechanical assembly, and electrical connections.
•     Support lifting operations, bolt tightening, cable routing, and component alignment under supervision.
•     Participate in commissioning activities, including system checks and functional testing.
•     Ensure proper use of installation tools, equipment, and safety gear.

 

Site Operations
•     Monitor installation progress and report deviations or issues to supervisors.
•     Assist with logistics for turbine components, spare parts, and consumables.
•     Maintain accurate installation records, including daily logs, checklists, and incident reports.
•     Support coordination between site teams, contractors, and project managers.

 

Safety & Compliance
•     Follow Goldwind’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols during installation.
•     Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and emergency drills.
•     Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

 

Training & Development
•     Engage in Goldwind’s structured training modules covering turbine technology, installation procedures, and site safety.
•     Shadow experienced technicians and engineers to gain practical knowledge.
•     Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on installation processes.
•     Progress toward independent technician responsibilities through structured mentorship.

 

Qualifications:

Recent graduate in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Renewable Energy Engineering (or related field)
