The reason for this role:
The Wind and Site Engineer is an important professional role that manages key activities which support the TSI and EPC projects.
What you will be doing?
- Use wind analysis software packages to calculate site wind conditions and energy production for wind projects
- Use noise analysis software to model noise emissions for wind projects
- Coordinate with load engineers in Goldwind China to determine site suitability of turbines based on site wind conditions.
- Ensure wind and site analysis is performed correctly for Goldwind Australia’s wind farm projects and sales activities
- Coordinate independent wind and site analysis on Goldwind projects as required to achieve financing or equity from third party investors
- Optimise the layout of Goldwind projects using wind, site and constructability inputs
- Coordinate wind and site resources across the Goldwind group to achieve Goldwind Australia projects and sales objectives
- Provide information to project owners to assist with obtaining permits for wind projects from government agencies
- To provide technical support and assistance to external customers on the capabilities of Goldwind products
- Compliance - Perform the role and ensure technical products and services are prepared and executed strictly in accordance with: Company policies and procedures including all applicable laws, standards, codes of conduct and legislative requirements.
What does your background look like?
- Qualification Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline (electrical power, mechanical or renewable engineering)
- Experience Specific experience in wind and site engineering.
- Experience in Australian wind industry.
- Experience with Goldwind’s wind and site software packages such as such as WindPRO, ANSYS, ABACUS, WAsP, ArcGIS, or similar.
- Experience with the requirements of wind and site analysis in the Australian market.
- Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
- Ability to manage complex technical issues.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
